Description

Installation:

High Temperature Plasterboard can be cut and drilled with conventional woodworking tools. They should be installed with either nails, screws, insulation fixings or Heat Resistant Sealant. All fixings should be at 300mm centres. Nails and screws should be 15mm from the edge of the board. Nails should be flat head type, 3 – 4mm diameter and 35 – 40mm (1.5”) long. Screws should be countersunk type, number 6 or number 8 and 35 – 40mm (1.5”) long. Insulation fixings are pushed into a pre-drilled hole of 8mm diameter. Heat Resistant Sealant can be used to fix to a smooth masonry surface using approx 3mm thickness of sealant.

Vitcas Heat Resistant Filler should be used on the joints.

Finishing:

The boards can be finished by painting, skim plastering with Vitcas Heat Resistant Plaster or tiling with Vitcas Heat Resistant Tile Adhesive.

For painting the boards should be fixed with the smooth front face.

For plastering the boards should be fixed with the rough reverse face and the board sealed with neat PVA before starting to plaster when the PVA becomes tacky.

For tiling the board should be sealed with PVA before starting to apply Vitcas Heat Resistant Tile adhesive when the PVA becomes tacky.
